Review:
Cannonfort was released in the original line of Zoids which spanned 1983 to 1990 and while many fans held out for a reissue it didn't happen until the Genesis line in 2005. Several small differences in the details suggest that this kit was actually produced using a reconditioned or reconstructed mold, which would explain why it wasn't reissued until 2005 despite the high demand from fans. Cannon Fort is not featured in the anime.

As this was my first experience building a Cannon Fort I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleased to find that his construction doesn't simply mimic other large wind-up Zoids. Not only does the motor power Cannon Fort's four legs but its gun turret moves side-to-side and the cannon's move up and down. The head is not connected to the motor but can be raised and lowered as well.

Cannon Fort is a must-have Zoid, the dark color scheme is very flattering and the moving turret provides a unique motion that no other Zoid shares. My one complaint is that this Zoid has a second cockpit in the turret but only one pilot figure was included, which seems like a pointless cost-cutting measure by Tomy. Although this reissue was a long time coming, Cannon Fort was certainly worth the wait.
