Review:
Mugen Liger is the final Zoid to be released as part of Tomy's Zoids Genesis line and is the third and final form of Murasame Liger. They say "third time's a charm" and that definitely seems to be the case with Mugen Liger. All of the obvious issues with Murasame Liger and Hayate Liger have been avoided here. Mugen Liger was originally designated GZ-019 but when GZ-016 Redler was cancelled Mugen Liger was reassigned to fill in the gap between Hayate Liger and Decalto Dragon.

Mugen Liger's design is much nicer than its previous forms. The color scheme looks very regal and the use of sharp, curved blades and angles is very aesthetically pleasing. Unlike the soft plastic that Murasame's and Hayate's swords comes molded in Tomy got it right this time and molded Mugen Liger's sword in thick, durable plastic. The sword themselves have quite a range of articulation and can be posed very dramatically.

The kit still does come with a pre-built base but the use of layered parts allows for a long and satisfying build. Instead of reusing the same base, like they did with Hayate Liger, Tomy opted for some something more with Mugen. The motorized action has actually been improved significantly, instead of simply walking forward like its predecessors Mugen Liger walks, then stops, its head tilts upwards as its eyes flash red and it growls twice. The new motorized action is very nice and the light and sound are a total plus.

There's really nothing bad I can say about Mugen Liger unless you are the type of person who cannot stand the pre-built bases. Personally I think Mugen Liger is the best release from the entire Genesis line and absolutely one of my favorite Zoids of all time. If you've been hesitant about Murasame or Hayate then skip those two and go straight to Mugen. I highly recommend this Zoid to every collector.
